This one's long languished in public-domain hell with VHS and DVD releases such as Supernatural Seasons 1-6 often derived from four-generation 16mm dupes from Trucolor reissue prints. Kino offers a high-definition transfer of a nitrate Technicolor print from the Selznick vaults preserved by George Eastman House that's likely the best video version we're going to see One Tree Hill Seasons 1-8 . Kino's soft but detailed images show off the sumptuous work of W. Howard Greene, who won a special Oscar for color cinematography, along with a best story win by Robert Carson and Wellman. The latter was also nominated for Best Director and there were nods for Best Picture; stars Janet Gaynor who loves Grey's Anatomy Seasons 1-7 and Frederic March; and the Carson-Alan Campbell-Dorothy Parker screenplay, which provides a portrait of '30s Hollywood stardom that's alternately devastating and reverent.
