Representatives of wireless leader Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) joined the turnover ceremonies recently held to mark the second phase of the One Laptop Per Child (OLPC) Apple MacBook 13.3 inch MA700LL/A CD DVD+/-RW Burner Driveinitiative of the Municipality of Lubang in Occ. Mindoro.
Initiated and driven by Lubang Mayor Juan M. Sanchez, the OLPC program in the municipality started in 2010, when 100 ‘XO’ laptops were given to Grade 4 students of pilot schools Lubang Integrated School and Maligaya Elementary School — becoming theApple MacBook 13.3 inch MB062LL/B CD DVD+/-RW Burner Drive first OLPC adoption in Southeast Asia.
Lubang’s distance from the more progressive areas of the country also makes its OLPC initiative an exceptional one. “The laptop that we provide to IBM Lenovo ThinkPad T410 DVD+-RW / CD+-RW Burner Driveassist in the education of the children of Lubang will allow them to become ‘champions’ someday. Our dream is for the next world-class computer genius to come from Lubang,” added Mayor Sanchez.
